As I mentioned we made an end of the summer trip in which we covered a lot of territory. We spent one measly day in Yellowstone and barely half a day in the Tetons, but here's some of our favorite pictures and places.
The spot where the Boiling River, a scald-the-flesh-off-your-bones-in-a-matter-of-seconds hot spring tumbles into the Gardiner River (your regular, ridiculously, freezing, cold, mountain river.) was top of everyone's list of most fun places ever. It's crazy to have the hot and cold currents swirling around you all at the same time. It's not really on the official Park maps, but it's up on the north end and totally worth finding it if you are visiting.
(If you can't justify bringing your favorite newly refashioned red polka dot flats, just polka dot your toes and get the same fabulous mood elevating effect no matter where you are.J )
I was a tad disappointed in Mammoth Hot Springs because I remember how it was 25 or 30 years ago. M & the kids had never seen it so they were enamored.
Well, except for maybe AJ who amused us by walking around holding his nose and shouting that the place stunk.

the Grand Prismatic Spring
There was a lot of smoke in the air from nearby forest fires and M nicely caught the sun setting through the smoke as Old Faithful erupted.
Yeah, can you make out the Tetons & Mount Moran in the background? So disappointing!!!
We always find visitor centers entertaining...

S finally got to make a dream catcher!
Then as if he heard M grumbling that we hadn't seen any mega-fauna on trip, this giant of a moose was sitting in the river as we drove out of the park! Nicely done!
