It was Red Ribbon Week and each day had a different
dressing theme at school. J was
exactly the only kindergartener who participated on the first day – wear your
clothes inside out day – but he didn’t seem to mind. I totally messed up and cut his mop of hair
off a week too early, or he could have done some really fun things for “crazy
hair”day. But he dutifully and proudly wore his red ribbon every minute of the day.
S’s crazy hair was
unbeatable. We put a cup on the very top
of her head and then pulled all her hair up around it into a ponytail and added
a bunch of brightly colored faux hair pieces AND then sprayed her ponytail
bright blue. Good thing there wasn’t
anyone sitting behind her in class, they would not have been able to see the
board.
