flower arranging

With our 4-H club we are focusing on sewing, but there are so many other interesting topics to explore in 4-H that S and I are doing a few side projects on our own.  One of them is flower arranging.  We thought this was a great simple, helpful video for lovely wild arrangements.  Here's what we came up with using just materials we found in our yard.
This is S's arrangement alone
. . . and here's the whole arrangement
We used roadside sunflowers, red honeysuckle berries, woodbine vines, iris leaves, some darling spiky purple wildflower, and some grass seed heads.

This arrangement used peach carnations and purple mums from the grocery store, and then we added purple-black chokecherries, soft grey-green lambs ear leaves and strappy daylily leaves.  I really love these colors.
